Red Admiral

An unexpected surprise in the walled garden in Pollok Park this morning.

I had intended to take a photo of some of  the remaining Michaelmas Daisies when I spotted this Red Admiral butterfly enjoying the sunshine. The wings still look in great condition considering the awful weather we have had recently.

This is the Glasgow schools holiday week so the park was very busy with the car park full and many cars just abandoned by the grass. Can't blame folk for wanting to enjoy a walk in the beautiful autumn sunshine.
