Pastoral Island

By graniteman

It has been raining all day. I quickly blipped this picture while out shopping. This is the doorway of a building I blipped previously. The building was an old Guernsey farmhouse, but is now in ruins. The doorway has some intricate stonework with a bracketed lintel and chamfered sides. It is a fairly rare design and there are only six known examples on the island. It can be used to date the house to around 1500.
