The Nile from the Flamenco Hotel, Zamalek
Day 1 of this CELTA course done and dusted. 10 trainees: 9 Egyptians and 1 Russian. Early days but they all seem nice enough and on-the-ball. One is incredibly nervous and needs reassurance about absolutely everything and another made a rather inappropriate comment this morning in input - we put it down to nerves but are keeping an eye on it. We also have a trainer-in-training, who's being trained up over this month and next. It was a luxury to walk out the door at 5.15 this afternoon, but then we did walk in at 8.15 this morning....a short day in the life of a tutor!
After work, I came over to Zamalek where Bb was, and we had a bite to eat on the 10th floor restaurant of the Flamenco Hotel. When I first started coming here back in 2011, the BC put us in here for the duration of courses. No problems with leaking washing machines, but no chance to make a sandwich to take with me for lunch either or have breakfast in my room in my jammies!
