Gala Flowers

Not for a funeral - for a fundraiser! My tap dance school, The Aspire Project, a school that "provides affordable access to dance programs and fitness classes for all ages," had a evening of entertainment, food, and a silent auction.
A couple of weeks ago, I decided not to perform with my tapmates, as my sister was still so critical, and I didn't want to commit to the rehearsals, but I did arrange flowers for the 17 tables. The flowers were donated by Petal Passion, a friend's North Portland florist business. Marianna is an urban flower farmer, and grows most of the flowers she uses in her yard as well as neighboring yards and alleyways. Handling that many flowers was very good for my soul. The evening was fun, too.
