Seattle U

This is St. Ignatius Chapel at Seattle U. I met my sister for second breakfast (for me) at Semillon Bakery in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle this morning. I ate a delicious apple pastry along with a latte. Then we walked across the street to take a walk around the grounds of Seattle U and to see the chapel.

The link I included above gives the story of what the architect was trying to accomplish with the curving ceilings and the lighting. Since it is a mere 10 years old, the place has not become saturated with spiritual energy I associate with much older places.

Since the day is so gorgeous, I took Salem for a second walk at the park so I could check up on the patch of Amanita Muscaria that I found yesterday. I hope I can go back every other day or so to get a first-hand view of how these fearsome mushrooms grow from their initial bulbous form to a slightly inverse pizza top shape.
