The Man in the Rock
Apparently, in 1851, a local weaver carved a sculpture into the local cliff depicting 'The Prisoner of Chillon'.
(Referencing the poem of the same name by Lord Byron).
It was known locally as 'The Man in the Rock' but was destroyed by natural coastal erosion in 1970.
A local pub/bar, called 'The Man in the Rock' commemorates this and has a small replica mounted on its side wall. I have enlarged it for the purposes of this blip.
