Open Mic

A day out in Faversham in the glorious October sunshine. We did the five mile circular walk "the two creeks" which took us along the Saxon Shore Way across the marshes by the Swale. There is a pub called the Shipwright Arms which lies below sea level opposite the Isle of Sheppy next to Oare Creeks . Today we did not stop at the pub but continued our walk past Davington and back to Faversham creek.

We had lunch at Posillipo, our favourite Faversham Italian restaurant, sitting outside in the conservatory overlooking the creek. It felt like summer with temperatures of 25C.

After lunch we walked along thd creek (on the opposite bank to earlier) and looked at the boats in Standard Wharf. My blip is taken of the masthead on a Belgium artist's barge. We continued our walk for about five miles, returning back to the Albion pub for a drink outside on the terrace in the late afternoon sun. En route we had collected just under a kilo of chestnuts .

My extra is a picture of the Pirates Boat that we first saw in 2016 and then again sometime later when it had grounded and been abandoned by the pirate. Today it was derilect and had obviously suffered a fire.
