Pumpkin Day

Cathleen harvested the first of the really large pumpkins from her polytunnel today in order to make pumpkin, onion , mustard and grueyre gratin for the ColGlen Growers Harvest lunch tomorrow (though we can’t be there).

We will however sample a small dish of it tonight as there is lots of eating to be had from a 10.6 kg pumpkin and there was still plenty to be mashed for freezing whilst the seeds were roasted with chili flakes and have already been consumed - they were delicious.
