An unexpected sighting!

I was working upstairs this morning when a movement caught my eye.  looking out of the window there was a Heron flying down the road between us and the bungalow opposite.  Below the bungalow roof level.

Suddenly it turned and landed on the bungalow roof.    Camera!  *!^*^!**^! it's down stairs!  Dash down grab camera.   Wrong lens!  Run upstairs with camera and lens.  Its still there.  Change lens and manage a few quick shots before it flies away.

There is a stream behind the bungalow but it is barely 1.5 m (4 ft) wide. In forty odd years of living in the village I have never seen a Heron perched or landed within the village limits.
