Convergent Lines
I watched last week's Gardeners' World on iPlayer today - a very pleasant way of brightening a very dull and unpleasant day. This is a screenshot from a feature which spoke to me in two ways. It was about fungi at a very special place where I spent a lot of time as a kid - Rivington. It was a kind of folly-cum-country park created by the industrialist Lord Leverhume, and quite a magical place. I particularly enjoyed it because the presenters put quite a lot of emphasis on the fact that fungi are for the most part not the malevolent organisms that many people seem to think, but in many ways beneficial, even vital to our existence.
