Heron on a pole

Lost count of the number of heron we have seen on the canal/river. Some of them are huge old boys but there are many smaller younger birds too. They are much easier to snap than the Kingfishers are!

This heron was perched on a channel marker as we passed by. He never flinched. Saw many swans today also - odd because we didn't see one a one on the way upstream.

Back in Deluz tonight. The big hill wasn't any easier to walk up than it was last time.
