Parking lot fun

I heard a ruckus as I walked to my car and when I went over to see what was going on, I saw the hawk sitting on a pole. Then I saw the squirrel jump onto the pole and start his climb. It was clear he knew what was at the top - they eyed each other the whole time. I yelled “don’t do it, squizz,” but he took the last few hops anyway. And even tho they both knew the other was there, the hawk acted surprised and flew away and the squirrel was halfway down the pole before he stopped to check and see if he was still alive. Then he bounced back up to the top and took his bows. It was quite the show.
