The Lundy Eye

Golden treasury of words

I spent today working in what I think is one of the most visually attractive buildings in Glasgow, the Mitchell Library.
When I was leaving I got this shot just at the right time - the end of the day when the sky was turning from blue to black. Fifteen minutes later the rain came on so I was lucky with my timing.
It was bequeathed to the city by Stephen Mitchell, one of Glasgow's tobacco barons. The statue at the top of the bronze dome is of Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom.
