First Flakes

It's been snowing lightly all day!  The temperature has been a few degrees above freezing so not much is sticking but Piper is happy.  As soon as we opened the back door she went out and laid down on it.  She would prefer several inches to nest into but even a little is nice. :-)  This weather doesn't mean that it will stay cold now.  It's pretty typical to have an early snow and a few wintery days in October and then warm back into the 60s for a while.  Piper and I love winter but her dad isn't keen on cold weather so we're hoping that holds true for his sake. ;-)

I am grateful that the roads were only wet and not slippery as we had an appointment about 20 miles away.  It was a quick easy drive both ways. :-)
