Crocosmia

We planted this crocosmia last year and it's done quite well in spite of the drought, still holding its colour. There are a few other spots of intense colour in the garden but it's all heading into autumn pretty quickly now. The time of year when I find myself reading poems by Rilke (not that easy to understand, and no doubt one shouldn't try to). I'm also having a go at Geroge Eliot's Romola which I've hitherto neglected, in spite of being a big GE fan. It too is not an easy read, but she's a wonderful writer.
