Fast Reader

Meet Linn. She works in a bookstore in Sandefjord, Norway, where I had an event tonight in the local library. As well as reading books for the store, she also reads manuscripts for Norwegian publishers. She manages to read an astounding 900 books a year!! A speed-reader, she focuses on the middle word of each line, allowing her to somehow absorb the whole line before simply running her eye from the top to the bottom of the page. You do the maths - it’s about three books a day. Linn also reads audio books in half the time by playing them at double speed. Go figure!
