Sesasonal MM - Hurricane Season

The following is a quote from an Internet weather site.

"The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30 with the peak period from early August through the end of October.  Based on historical weather records dating back to 1950, a typical year will bring 12 tropical storms with sustained winds of 39 mph, of which six turn into hurricanes with winds reaching 74 mph or greater, and three major hurricanes category 3 or higher with sustained winds of at least 111 mph."
With today's MM theme, I decided to post a photo less than 5 minutes from my house.  This is left from Hurricane Florence and was a large billboard advertising a golf driving range. On the right, you can see the large posts torn from the ground by the storm when the billboard blew over.  In the extra, the tree is beside the road that borders a golf course.   You might notice the yellow caution tape is used to warn people about the danger of this downed tree.  Those limbs that were sawed for safety in the road look to be 8" to 12" in diameter, so it was a large tree.

Now, Hurricane Michael is on the way with landfall expected on the Gulf coast of Florida on Wednesday and progressing into Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina before Friday.
