Mono Monday: Seasonal

My first crop of pears from a small pear tree that I planted a couple of years ago. Sadly, the advice given throughout the long, hot and dry summer not to waste water and to use dirty water from washing up etc. to irrigate the garden was perhaps only intended for the flower garden, as the first one of these I have eaten had a very slightly soapy flavour. Never mind; I'll know better next year.
