Playing
Hide and seek in the oak forest - oh so exciting with a three year old. The extra is a shot of another game we played, attempting to hit the closest buoy with a rock. We all tried, time and time again, but no direct hits. We had coffee in a thermos, sat under the oak trees drinking it and talking, then gathered acorns.
The day did not go quite as we had planned. After church and lunch we were heading east to go on a hike in the forest. Driving on a two lane highway, the car in front of us suddenly veered into the oncoming lane. A pickup truck pulling a trailer on that lane tried unsuccessfully to avoid the collision, veering toward our lane (and us!). The car hit the trailer, which sort of disintegrated, sending tools and construction materials all over. Both vehicles were totaled, the people seemingly escaped serious injury. We were able to stop just in time. Since we were among the first on the scene, and eyewitnesses, we stayed to help and give the police a statement. It all took quite a while, and in the end we decided to go to the first suitable place to be outdoors.
Thankful for time with Abel and family, thankful that we are all ok.
