I'm On the Train

A record time for the return trip today- 10 hrs 5 mins from the Charente Maritime to north east London without breaking the speed limit. It would have been even faster if it wasn't for the traffic queues on the M20. 

Anyway, a new experience was arriving at the Channel tunnel and finding no queues. Waved straight through onto the train. Second last car on board.

And another bonus was having this beautiful 1979 Porsche 911 SC behind us. If you aren't interested in cars look away now. 

Philip, the owner was very happy to chat about the evolution of 911's and their relative merits while his pal pushed out the Zzzzs in the passenger seat. The aesthetic qualities of compression bumpers versus the later 911's being galvanised and therefore being less prone to rust. I know that there are some Blippers out there who have actually owned Porsches and might be interested to see this photo. The rest of you, like me, will have to keep dreaming.
