What's up with RGB colouring in photoshop?

Today I had tons of images to colour up, the main bulk of colour was R.240 G.240. B.235. My colour profile was correct, my document was in RGB. The problem I kept getting was that the red slider kept reverting to 239 everytime I reopened a file.

How bloody annoying, I've tried every possible work around, saving for web, all possible colour profile combos, and still the same problem.

Anybody else ever encounter this problem?
