Fires beneath the stars

A warm evening and plenty of activity at Twin Lakes in Santa Cruz. I was headed down to the water’s edge with my camera set up for an attempt to shoot the Milky Way - I decided to see what would happen if I shot at it through the fires. The effect is a little weird, but I like it.
There has been some playing with graduated filters in Lightroom.
