Wine Tasting

Wine is incredibly popular in China now and shops selling wine have sprung up all over the city in the past couple of years. It is seen by some (particularly the nouveau riche) to be a sign of wealth and sophistication to drink wine, particularly French wine.

Today a wine tasting event was held by ASC, a big wine importer and distributor, at the Crowne Plaza hotel, one of Nanchang's best hotels. The event was very popular considering it was a wet and miserable Wednesday afternoon. If it were a Saturday or Sunday I think the place would've been packed!
