Buffelhead

I'm no bird photographer. But this beauty venturing the troubled waters was irresistible. Just when I had taken this photo, it simply disappeared. My wife, standing beside, laughed heartily at my confusion. Then she told me that the bird had dived. Obviously it was swimming a long way under the water surface. I never saw it appear again.

Why it is called Buffelhead, I have no clue.
