The Sailors' Gates

These gates are now in Liverpool 1, having been returned in 2011to the city from a factory in the Midlands where they had been since 1951, having been removed from Liverpool, where they had stood outside a Sailors' Home after suffering damage in the War.  Might this mark a trend? The Elgin Marbles?
