Kowhai

At the moment have three kowhai trees in full flower. In other parts of NZ they would be covered in our lovely bird the Tui but not here in Sth Canterbury. There were starlings on it this morning but the minute I stepped outside with my camera they were gone. So you just have the flower, late this afternoon there were bumblebees on the flowers but never succeeded in getting a decent shot.
Book club was here this afternoon so lit the big open fire. It wasn’t that cold but the ladies appreciated it as none of them had an open fire in their homes
Baked date scones and plain scones with cream for afternoon tea so all in all a busy day.
