It was all going so well, then.....

We went to see Rainman (a film I love) at the Edinburgh Kings theatre this evening. We’re going to several things there this winter.
It has had a short but busy run, including a matinee today. It wasn’t overly busy tonight, which suited me.
Anyway, the show got off to a good start. Then after a few scenes it stopped abruptly; the safety curtain came down and house lights up. It transpired Ed Speleers (Charlie Babbit) had taken ill (tummy bug). Someone came on and advised they’d continue with his understudy..... boy was he good. Seamless transformation and a superb effort - if prompted, then I never saw it.
Excellent show.
