Letting Go

I noticed the grocery store mums had shed some petals on the table this morning when I got up.   This was not there yesterday when I ate supper at 6:30 and cleaned off the table.

I wonder how they know when to let go.  Or do they jump with glee, screaming for the fun of it, floating down softly.   Or just give up because they are tired.     Pondering these questions.
