The Old Forge (Wednesday 3rd October 2018)

It's a good thing I located the painting materials needed yesterday, as today proved propitious for Decorating Wednesday. Refna must take the credit for putting the finishing touches to both sides of the gate and fencing in the front yard because, when I wasn't hindering her efforts with rambling anecdotes, I was busy shifting a bird table to its new location by the wooden arch and levelling the ground for it, painting a concrete lintel above a door frame, and replenishing the peanuts and sunflower heart feeders.
Also later today (after Refna had gone), came my quarterly delivery from the gin club, a goody box including a bottle of RIII (Richard III) Burleigh's Leicester Dry Gin and accessories, a couple of which I set up for a sort of Still Life (see Extra) in the front yard to add a little extra interest to a shot of a grey fence. I left my coffee mug on the table when I took the shot (the gin remains unopened for now as there are a couple of bottles from previous boxes on the go).

Having heard this in the background several times and assumed it was by Polica I finally heard it properly today and discovered it was by an English electronic music duo comprising producers and remixers Chris Davids and Liam Ivory, here with a guest singer they have worked with since 2013. Their album is on Counter Records, a subsidiary label of Ninja Tune.
