Falling Leaves

I forced myself to go out for a run at lunchtime. I'd been struggling trying to write some new code this morning and I know that it helps to take a break and clear the head. I think it helped for I did finally get it working this afternoon. My timing was also better than earlier in the week. I managed to avoid the heavy rain and very strong winds which arrived later.

So a blip today to reflect on the fact that many trees are now completely stripped of their leaves. They are to be seen floating down the canal in their tens and hundreds of thousands, at a barely perceptible speed. It feels like a funeral procession, which, in a way, is exactly what it is. I stopped for a few seconds to pay my respects and mourn the passing of another year in the life of these trees which line the canal.

I'm still in the midst of a big push on my current project before another Workshop in the Netherlands next week. Progress has been made again today, but it's still happening far more slowly than I would like. I have to apologise in advance for having to retreat almost completely into work while I get key components ready to demonstrate. I guess you're used to it by now. Thanks once again for your marvellous and continued support by way of comments. I'm not sure I deserve it!
