Bonded!
Oscar chose to sleep with me last night! So happy! He went up with The Exile but later when I settled into bed with a cup of peppermint tea and my book, thinking for once I'd get to read and snuggle up to FatCat, lo! Oscar came thumping up the stairs! So I guess that means he accepts me as his Number 1, Alpha leader of the pack!
The Exile took photos of me and Oscar today and to my surprise when I looked at them I discovered that my hair is totally grey/white! When I look in the mirror I see brown with touches of white! How peculiar is that! I mention this as I nearly missed a hair appointment today! If he hadn't had phoned me I would have turned up on Friday as this was when I thought it was! After the haircut I went to get more chews from Oscar and I ended up buying an ostrich leg! Apparently they are taking the dog world by storm! They are big, don't shatter like other bones as they have a honeycombed structure, and will last for ages! When I gave it to Oscar he promptly dropped on the spot, which happened to be in a doorway, and that was it! Very happy chewing and gnawing!
Oscar continued to delight me on our walk in the afternoon by the River Lynher. I let him off the lead and he gambled along, even chasing a ball! Each time I called him he came to me, with the reward of a treat, funny that eh? When we got to a shallow part to the river I waded on in and called him - he stood by the edge and whimpered! But the lure of another treat got him in the water! A little later I waded in again and he found a way to me that meant he didn't have to go in too deep! Then another dog joined us and all trepidation of the water was lost!
After dinner I went to bed with a headache, again expecting Oscar to stay downstairs with The Exile - nope! He came to bed with me! What a doggy day of delights for him and me!
