TinyTuesday - Celebration
Well, what could be more celebratory than a brilliantly colored Ailanthus Webworm Moth on a daisy? And while it may not be apparent, our little moth had been enjoying a nice nectar cocktail. Several daisies away, the party was in full swing when it suddenly took an ugly turn ... resulting in a fly becoming dinner for yet another of those wily little crab spiders. Clearly the bouncers weren't doing their jobs - oh, wait a minute, we don't have bouncers in the Montauk Diner. Oh well.
Had a lovely visit with a friend today - haven't seen her in a long while so it was really fun to catch up. And she helped me release Monarchs # 213 and 214, both males. Less than 10 chrysalids left now...
Had a nice little group of migrants in the yard this morning, including a male scarlet tanager in non-breeding plumage HERE eating berries and a rather furtive red-eyed vireo HERE
All in all, a very enjoyable day!
Thanks so much to WWombat for hosting TinyTuesday this month!
