In an English country garden

Issy and Tony moved to Henley three months ago and invited Sue Malia and I (extra, on the left) to hear Les Hinton speak at the Literary Festival. It was an early birthday treat for me.

Les was a chief executive during our time at The Times and has written a tasty little memoire.

To my surprise, Peter Stothard our former Editor was sitting in the row in front of us. We had a chat and caught up.

Isobel made us a terrific lunch and we enjoyed their garden in the sunshine.
