Nomads
Back blip
A varied little day!
Met one of my friends in the morning for a walk along part of the John Muir Way. We met at Polmont Station and walked along the Union Canal for a bit (pictured) before following the John Muir Way through Callendar Park and on to Falkirk High Station, even having time for lunch in Callendar House along the way.
Our walk, and my friend's train back to Edinburgh, were both early enough to allow me to attend the Falkirk v Connah's Quay Nomads match at the Falkirk Stadium in the afternoon. It is one of the idiosyncrasies of the SPFL League Cup that several teams from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are invited to take part, which is why the Bairns were playing a team from Wales that afternoon.
It did not go well. The Nomads won 0-1, adding to the general gloom and despair among the Falkirk support at the moment.
Oh well, at least I had a good walk with pleasant company in the morning!
