2018 Sunday — September’s Finale
“Finishing Well” makes me think about “doing it wrong” and then doing it right . . . that seems to be our trademark—Mr.Fun & I.
I tell my students often that it is okay to make mistakes as long as they learn from them. I tell them that I make plenty of mistakes and that my desire is to learn from the mistakes. When we are looking at a mistake, I like to tell the whole class that they don’t need to find a tall bridge and jump; they stare at me for a moment, and then they laugh. They are all entirely too serious.
Mr.Fun & I could give workshops on “How to Do It Wrong.” We have done so in epic portions.
As September ends, we have now lived in our former home for a little over a month (we did move back the end of May, but quickly made our exit for summer). Now today on September 30th we both agree we did this right. Selling our big house with the enormous expenses was the right thing to do. Downsizing not only decreased our responsibilities but also our stress. We are finding that our former home and neighborhood provide us with glimpses of gold now as we live here among the memories.
September, we have enjoyed you! And we think you are finishing well and maybe we are finishing well too.
The photo — is our little Chloe — she put herself on time-out after misbehaving! She is also finishing well!
This was a good day,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
