The audience assembles for the very ambitious, very spectacular and generally very successful touring production of 42nd Street at Aylesbury. I hadn't realised what a dark song 42nd Street is. This is a backstage musical with some real grit and amazing set-pieces. No photography during the show, of course, but the mingling throng is a good proxy.
