Spotted Redshank

Spotted - oh yes!

A busy day in the kitchen and a stinking cold but managed to grab time out to find the spotted redshanks for a time this afternoon. 

Perseverance and patience paid off and right at the last minute not only had I found them having chased them over a few lakes as they kept flying off but the sun shone briefly too! 

Elegant waders on our Amber conservation list so a treat to see having flown in from the arctic. We have only 98 birds which winter here.
