Life from city to village

Rye

We were only in East Sussex because I had been lucky enough to win a prize of a night in a hotel in Ticehurst. The hotel was lovely - we had a junior suite, with a separate living room! I've never been in a room that posh before! It was a real treat!.

Of course there is no point in going all that distance and not making the most of it. After a bit of study, we decided to visit the medieval town of Rye. I'd come across Rye in fiction books, and it sounded really charming. It was about a 20 minute drive from where we were staying. And there were so many other sites we didn't have chance to see. Rye was charming, and Ypres Tower was amazing. It has been used as a centre against smuggling in the area, and as a gaol.

Then it was time for the long drive back.  A few traffic jams along the way, but it was ok.
