Sack Race
Good God, Roberto Di Matteo gets no luck. It's almost as if Roman Abramovich thought Albion were a bit too nice in our dismissal of RDM, and decided to show us how you really go about being ruthless. We at least let the bloke take us on a miserable streak of eighteen matches with only three wins, and leave us staring at the relegation zone, before giving him the order to go and attend to his garden. At Chelsea, they've given him the heave ho for two wins in eight, and third place. And this six months after FA Cup and Champions League triumph.
Still, in a world of folks being made jobless, Di Matteo will probably struggle the least for food on the table and a roof overhead. To my knowledge, no Welfare To Work programme yet invented has ever landed someone a column in the Sunday papers or a comfy chair on Match Of The Day.
