Annual Lace Day

Today was North Downs Lacemakers Lace day. We try and sell tickets in advance to get an idea of numbers but know that people will always turn up on he day to attend, even just for shopping. I think we had around 84 tickets sold in total - a good day. Our raffle had 142 prizes! Always popular, as although you buy a ticket you don’t choose your prize - it’s a surprise (the prizes are numbered and the first ticket out gets prize one, the second ticket gets prize two etc). Our speaker, Fay Maxwell, delighted us with her talented textile produce along with some humorous stories that she has encountered. A number of people came up to me to say thank you for a good day, that’s so nice to know. :)
