Wending our way South.....

......today, we called into Seaham. We've wanting to see this sculpture of a returning soldier of the Great War. Officially entitled "Eleven-O-1", it's more generally known as "Tommy"! It's very moving I think.

There is a folk song about it (forgotten who wrote it) & we heard it sung by Flossie Malavialle some months ago. She's the French singer who lives up here.
