Nature Diary... In the Garden of Secrets

The evening sun cast interesting shadows and the residents slowly began to emerge from their daytime resting places. Small hedgehogs ventured out on the lookout for an evening meal and two little turtles made their way to the secret pond hoping to swim.

Beside the pond and almost hidden from view one of the Gnomble brothers sat quietly fishing hoping to catch the supper before the turtles disturbed the calmness of the water. Just behind him, returning from digging for potatoes, his brother was almost home and ready to start the log fire on which they would cook their evening meal and beside which they would sit companionably and exchange stories of the adventures they'd had that day.
