Migration Signpost

This clever sign is in a small Nature Reserve for the children of Tinwistle School near Bottoms Reservoir in Longdendale Derbyshire.

The four birds shown on the indicator are two Summer vistors to the area:
Golden Plover - in winter they move to the Dee Estuary
Blackcap - they winter in Gambia
and two Winter visitors:
Fieldfare - arrive from Norway
Redwing - arrive from Iceland

There is a board showing details of the nature reserve and a pledge from the school's children that they will look after the area forever.
