Wooden Water Pipes

Normal Saturday morning.

In the afternoon, my partner and I went to Newington to look at the charity shops. Not much this time, so we went to Forrest Row, where there are two charity shops.

I was reminded about these wooden water pipes by a friend we met on our way to get coffee. The blip shows wooden water pipes, which were used to supply fresh water to the centre of Edinburgh from Comiston Springs. They were used until more water was required, and another set of pipes were laid, this time made of cast iron, from Liberton, and the ones from Comiston replaced with cast iron pipes.

Saturday evenings are now planned for the next few weeks, Strictly, and later on, Mystery Road.
