beach baffoon

This American Coot looks like the clown of the aquatic bird world. First notice the feet, not really webbed like a duck, but enlarged toes which make its walk very awkward. Think clown shoes. Then notice its face - big white "nose". Think painted clown face. And lastly, what happened to its tail?? Surely its hind end needs to offset the big snout!
And like a clown, seeing one always makes me smile :-)
