Porto - the friendly city

or so it would seem from first impressions.

I wasn't sure what Portuguese were going to be like, perhaps expecting some of the surly service that can occur in some places in southern Europe. So far everyone we've met couldn't have been nicer and more helpful - despite our extremely limited Portuguese vocabulary....

Only a few hours walk around to get our bearings, but some beautiful corners and much of the city is under active renovation, so it should improve further with time.
