First waterlily

This is the first waterlily to flower in my little 'water garden'. It's a beautiful soft white (iPhone doesn't really capture the detail) and slowly opens during the day, revealing a pale yellow centre. Can almost make you feel quite zen!

We turned the pot into a 'pond' by filling the holes at the bottom with some waterproof boat fixing putty and giving it a couple of coats of some waterproofing pond sealer. It seemed to 'sweat' on the outside for a week, and then settled down and has been watertight ever since.

I'm waiting for some frogs to visit.
