Second day in the Apennines. Time to shuffle back to my little old hotel and settle down to a home-cooked dinner in a somewhat dated and tired setting - but it is all good!
ps, as I am posting this the day after, I can tell you that it was just that and more... lasagna off the menu made from a family recipe with a green pasta, ragu and soft and delicate in the mouth. The owner noticed how fast I consumed it and appreciated that I noticed that the pasta was fresh and homemade. So, he offered me a second portion! Appeased!! Follow-up was vitello tonnato and pan-fried porcini mushrooms. The owner pointed out that they don't use any cream or egg, just flower. Delicious!! Desert was a semifreddo with almonds and per my request drowned in a bed of espresso (affogato). Somewhere a half-bottle of lambrusco got mixed in.
I was in bed by 9:30 pm.
