Self-indulgence and thanksgiving.

The last time I was in this exact spot was in 2004. The difference is that on that occasion I was sitting in an electric scooter unable to walk more than about twenty yards. In 2006 the NHS Neurosurgeons changed all that.

In this five day holiday we have walked about 30 miles with no difficulty. I am eternally grateful for their skill.

This is Castle Kennedy gardens which we visited near the beginning of our journey home. It is a huge and amazing place. It has a ruined castle, two huge lakes with many Greylag geese today and enormous ground all constructed in in the eighteenth century by hundreds of soldiers who needed to be given something to do to fill up their days.

It has been a most enjoyable five days visit. This morning we booked a second B and B for next May. A most remarkable place in the middle of nowhere.
