Funeral
Up bright and early to continue the grand tidy. Broke off from that to take my blind aunt to the funeral of a neighbour and friend: Maurice. They has known each other for 60 years and I’d met him a few times usually around Hogmanay.
The funeral had been scheduled for the smaller chapel at the Crematorium - Pentland - but because of the numbers they switched to the main chapel.
Then off to the gathering afterwards at Mortonhall Golf Club. So it was nearer 4 before I got back. Tried out the new ovens for dinner. Worked well. Then re-energised myself after 9 to carry on emptying boxes and this time sorting out the utility room. The dishwasher and washing machine have been in almost constant use as the battle with the dust continues. Gave up after 2am feeling I’d made progress.
Not my usual autumn vacation!
